Fans together demanding for a new album!

Postby pmlc » Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:57 am

HELLO ALL FANS!!!

As was done by fans before the last tour, sending postcards to the house of Tina, asking for a tour, we should now join forces in order to ask for recording a new album!!! :D :D

In the press conference this month (launch of Childrens Beyond), Tina said she could record an album if inspiration comes.

We can help Tina get inspired! :P :P

Would be fantastic to take Tina birthday's in order to send congratulations and ask for a new album!

Would have to be carried out in an organized manner in order to achieve together a large number of fans.

If any fan from Switzerland could help would be wonderful!

What do fans think of the idea?

Days run fast...so we have to be quick ...

Hugs,

Pedro

Well, I for one would love to see a new regular Tina album. (Rock,Pop,R&B).
However, I'm not going to hold my breath. She knows doing it may cause people to want another tour.
And while I'm sure she's in pretty good shape and health for her age, two years has now past since the last tour. But some older artist do record albums, and not do any major promoting behind it. So if she did any promotion it may be more like it was for 'All the Best'.

I still think it was a huge mistake to not release a new album when the last tour was done. But the market had changed then, and is changing even more rapidly. The youth factor is taking over more. Though I'd like to believe her record company would back her. While her hard core fans will buy it, things have changed. At least here in the US where I live.

But yes, one more new album would be nice even if, not a tour behind it.

HI!!!

I really dont beleive TINA will tour again!

We love to see her live again but she's not into it at all & i accept.

As the voice still going stronge, a new album would be perfect, with surprises as duets.

But i dont know if she realy wants to do it, if we look to the past she always have something that makes her to record, so i think that we could help here!

Sending cards to her would be great because she would feel that we are real here waiting for it and she would feel it real.

If not, dont think she will be motivated to do something.

Lets go on with this?

Hi to you all.

I would REALLY like if Tina records another album again. I think that we deserve it specially sience she hasn't recorded a new album sience Twenty Four Seven and that was 12 years ago.
I completely support what Msherman9 said. That was a mistake that she didn't record a new album to come along with her latest tour, but not everything is lost. We could still hope and support Tina to do something new and what I really feel that Tina deserves is another BIG album in the US as Private Dancer was. There are several singers that are around Tina's age who are still recording and making it big around the world with new albums, duets, etc.
Tina is still in good shape and her voice is intact and to be honest. I found the new recordings from Tina! much, much better than the ones on All The Best.
I will support whatever it takes to help/encorage her to record again so Tina fans, let's unite to make this happen.
It would be amaizing if Tina tops the charts in the US and wins another Grammy. The Lifetime Achivement Grammy Award should come but to be honest, I don't know when because other singers that already have one don't have such a big and long career as Tina.

I'd like a new album as well but let's be practical here. Tina said that if something interested her, she'd consider recording something as she was only retiring from touring.

Also, as far as her not releasing anything new for the last tour, she said she had no desire to do a lot of promotion which would be necessary for any new project to bear fruit which is why the powers that be simply went with another compilation package. She had up until then been working on a new project on and off at the time which is where the two new songs came from.

The music business has changed and for an older artist, especially one who say doesn't want to just record standards/the Great American songbook a la Tony Bennett, getting support from any media is darn near impossible. You need the support of a label and if they aren't interested in advancing you the money, you're pretty much left to invest your own or simply hope for the best or come up with novel ways to promote your stuff (Prince giving away copies of one of his albums through a deal with a major paper in the U.K.). Most labels that advance money expect that they will get it back from the artist via tour profits. What are the odds that Tina would do that again? Capitol/EMI has gone through changes and purges during the time Tina released 24/7 and now. They've gotten rid of a lot of older artists, even ones who made them money. Remember when All the Best was released and there was chatter about why a video hadn't been released, it was speculated at that time that her label wasn't interested.

Tina has never come across to me as an artist interested in doing anything simply for art's sake, let the chips fall where they may, she wants to have hits. But she knows that she can't just release something and not go out and promote it, and I don't mean a tour, and expect it to be a hit world-wide.

So maybe she'll release something but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. Frankly, I'd be happy if she was willing to work with someone in her peer group and do something with a Carlos Santana or a Herbie Hancock or a Delbert McClinton because it's not like they haven't said they wouldn't be open to the idea.

As for a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammy's, it would be nice but here again, no guarantee about that. I've posted the list of folks who've received this award before so I'm not reposting it. We'll have to agree to disagree about how the Grammy's rate who merits one but really, some of you should do some research before you disparage other artists.

I'd also say be happy for what we've received from her over the years, goodness knows she's more than earned her retirement and if that means she doesn't record any big records anymore, so be it and thanks for the memories.

I will simply follow up on the last posting on this topic about a new album and possible tour. I pretty much agree with the previous posting concerning this matter. Tina has simply given us her best. She never cut short on a performance in concert, or in the studio recording. She does not have to prove anything. Thank you Tina for everything you have given us. You deserve your happiness. And also: Thank you Roger Davies for everything you have done for this remarkable lady.
