1993 - I don't wanna fight 7 Inch Single

"I Don’t Wanna Fight" is a single from Tina Turner's album "What’s Love Got To Do With It"’.
The song is written by Lulu, Billy Lawrie and Steve DuBerry.

"I Don’t Wanna Fight" was first given to Sade. Sade passed it on to Tina. Tina decided to record it. At that time Tina’s Life Story movie came out, and they’ve used this song as ending credits in the movie. The reason was very simple. It matched perfect into her life story and the song was autobiographical. Lulu recorded the song herself as a b-side after Tina’s version was released in 1993.

Tina’s life story movie called "What’s Love Got To Do With It?" was also released in 1993. Tina and her manager decided to make a soundtrack album also called "What’s Love Got To Do With It?" and Tina re-recorded several old songs from her past with Ike.

"I Don’t Wanna Fight" was released as the first single of the album and was a hit on both sides of the ocean. The song is about marriage trouble and breaking up, because it’s no use to keep a bad marriage running. Tina’s vocals were amazing, and the song gives you reason to think and sends shivers through your spine.

Tina performed this song on various tv shows like Top of the Pops, and the David Letterman Show. She also included the song on her What’s Love Live Tour 1993/1994.

The single was released in many formats. 7" single (different Versions), 12" single, cd single (different versions), cassette. The 7" single features an edit version of the song.
The B-side was "Tina’s Wish", a track that was featured on the album.(USA)
"Tina's Wish" is about all the wishes she has. She asks the lord to make her good and right and give her all she wishes for.

On Another version the B-side of the single is "The Best" (Single Edit), Tina’s anthem. (Europe)

Album: What's love got to do with it - 1993

There's a pale moon in the sky
The kind you make your wishes on
Like the light in your eyes
The one I built my dreams upon
It's not there any longer
Something happened somewhere
And we both know why
But me, I'm getting stronger
We must stop pretending
I can't live this life

I don't care who's wrong or right
I don't really wanna fight no more
(Too much talking babe)
Let's sleep on it tonight
I don't really wanna fight no more
(This is time for letting go)

I hear a whisper in the air
It simply doesn't bother me
Can't you see that I don't care
Or are you you looking right through me
Seems to me that lately
You look at me the wrong way and I start to cry
Could it be that maybe
This crazy situation is the reason why

I don't care who's wrong or right
I don't really wanna fight no more
(Too much talking babe)
Let's sleep on it tonight
I don't really wanna fight no more
(Tired of all these games)

But baby don't you know
That I don't wanna hurt no more
(It's time, I'm walking babe)
Don't care now who's to blame
I don't really wanna fight no more
(This is time for letting go)

Hanging on to the past
It only stands in our way
We had to grow for our love to last
But we just grew apart

No, I don't wanna hurt no more
But baby don't you know
No I don't wanna hurt no more
(Too much talking babe)
Don't care now who's to blame
I don't really wanna fight no more
(Tired of all these games)
I don't care who's wrong or right
I don't really wanna fight no more
(It's time, I'm walking babe)
So let's sleep on it tonight
I don't really wanna fight no more
(This is time for letting go)

Album: What's love got to do with it - 1993

I'm talking to the priest
The high priest
And everybody out there in the universe
If what I'm saying is wrong
Then tell me the right way to say it
Cause I wanna be made over

Paint me red, paint me green
Give me liberty, wash me clean
Make me over, make me nice
Cause when I'm done, Lord, I wanna be right

Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over

Make me smart, make me king
Give a lot, give me steam
I want eternal beauty, spiritual things
Cause when I'm done, yes I wanna be a good thing

Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over

I wanna go places, I wanna do some things
I wanna be a star, I wanna have a big name
But in my heart, let beauty reign
And when I'm done, I wanna have fame

Lord make me nice, Lord make me good
Give me power, give me love
I wanna be desireable, voluptous, tantalising

Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
I wanna be made over
I wanna be made over
Oh Lord
Make me over
Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
I wanna be made over
I wanna be made over
I wanna be made over
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Oh Lord
Make me over, I wanna be made over
I wanna be made over
Make me over, I wanna be made over
Make me over, I wanna be made over

Album: Foreign Affair (originally from Bonnie Tyler) - 1989

I call you when I need you, my heart's on fire
You come to me, come to me wild and wild
When you come to me
Give me everything I need
Give me a lifetime promises and a world of dreams
Speak a language of love like you know what it means
And it can't be wrong
Take my heart and make it strong baby

[Chorus:]
You're simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I've ever met
I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
Tear us apart
Baby, I would rather be dead

In your heart, I see the star of every night and every day
In your eyes I get lost, I get washed away
Just as long as I'm here in your arms
I could be in no better place

[Chorus]

Each time you leave me I start losing control
You're walking away with my heart and my soul
I can feel you even when I'm alone
Oh, baby, don't let go

[Chorus]
